Narangoda Liyanaarachchilage Thissara Chirantha Perera was born on 3rd April 1989 and is a professional cricketer representing the Sri Lanka cricket team and Wayamba his domestic team as an All-Rounder. He is a left handed hard hitting batsman and a right-arm medium- fast bowler. Also he has been a part of the Sri Lankan Under-19 Team and the Sri Lankan A Team. As of now, he has been selected by the Mumbai Indians to play at the IPL 5 season 2012.

Sri Lankan selectors were impressed by the talent of Thissara Perera and hence, gave him an opportunity to play for the ODI Team on December 24, 2009. He was then taken into the side in replacement of Angelo Mathews.

Perera is capable of clearing any boundary in the world with his bat. This he has demonstrated by hitting a 132 meter long six against Australia in November 2010 where he made 17 not out of just 4 deliveries in a Twenty20 match. He also has played a blazing innings against India at Mirpur to pull up a match in a tight situation.

Due to his all round skills he was picked up by Chennai Super Kings for the previous IPL seasons, as they were looking for All-Rounders who could give lusty blows with the bat in the lower order. Kochi Tuskers Kerala picked him up for the side where he was one of the overseas players.
