Although, Reema Malhotra debuted for India way back in 2003, she has strengthened her place in the side only recently. She is a middle order batsman and legspin bowler due to which she is regarded as a decent allrounder.
In the domestic scenario in 2005, the national tournament was held in which she was the best allrounder. Due to this performance, she was selected to play against New Zealand and Australia in 2006. While playing against these teams, her performance although unspectacular was sufficiently solid for selection of the tour of England and Ireland in 2006 (July and August). In the five matches that she played in, she aggregated 40. In December 2006, when the Asia Cup was contested, she failed to deliver and hence was dropped from the team. Thereafter, she performed impressively in the domestic Challenger Series and made a comeback in the national team in October 2008 for the Australian tour.
