Nicola Browne has a height of 180 centimeters and this largely helps her to obtain a good lift as a genuine pace bowler. She has an excellent ability to make early dismissals and hence she is potent as an opening bowler. Her talent was easily noticed as she progressed through the age groups and she became a part of the New Zealand Cricket Academy intake. Eventually, she was selected for the 2002-03 A tour of Australia. During the 2001-02 Rosebowl Series, she debuted for the White Ferns and further was chosen for the winter tour of Europe. In 2006, while playing against India, her contribution in batting and bowling assisted her team to win the series by a 4-1 margin.
Nicola Browne has participated in 89 ODIs in which she has bowled 3176 balls and in these 2014 runs have been scored and 60 dismissals have taken place. Her economy rate was 3.80, bowling average was 33.56 and bowling strike rate was 52.9. She got the opportunity to bat in 71 innings out of which she was unbeaten 23 times. In these, she scored 1456 runs with 61 as her highest score. Her batting average was 30.33 and batting strike rate was 66.48. She smashed 13 sixers, 116 boundaries and 8 fifties and took 23 catches.
