Sara McGlashan is a very versatile player. She peaks with the bat, with the gloves and can be considered as a true all rounder. During the National Under 21 tournament in 2001-02, when she was a member of the Central Districts, she batted at the top of the order. She participated in 7 State League matches as a member of State Central Hinds and had a highest score of 40. During the seniors’ winter tour to Europe, she was a part of the squad and debuted against the Netherlands. She became a part of the New Zealand Cricket Academy in that season and reinforced her cricketing skills. Her cricketing performance has always strengthened and she was a bit unfortunate when playing against the Indian Women team as she did not score many runs. She amassed 324 runs inclusive of 1 hundred and 2 half centuries, during the 2006-07 State League.
