During his Under 16 debut for Bengal, Abhishek Arunkumar Jhunjhunwala hit a century and exhibited his potential. Since then he has developed into a technically correct and reliable No. 3 batsman. Presently, he is playing for the Deccan Chargers team at the IPL 5 season.
During the 2005-06 Ranji Trophy, which was his first season, he played excellently and was selected for the Duleep Trophy in 2006-07. In this season also, he displayed good form. In August 2007, he joined the ICL with Royal Bengal Tigers. Due to this he was not considered for selection of the India and Bengal teams.
Jhunjhunwala debuted in first class cricket from 25th to 28th December 2005 at Surat (Lalabhai Contractor Stadium) in a match between Gujarat and Bengal. In the 1st innings, he made 72 runs in 204 balls with the aid of 9 fours. This match resulted in a draw.
