When Sarah Tsukigawa was 24 years old, she debuted for New Zealand Women cricket team during the 2006 ODI series. Her performance in this series was good and consistent. So, in the same year, she was selected for the Rose Bowl series in October against Australia. During this series, she participated in 4 matches and scored 29 runs and took 3 wickets. She could complete her 10 over quota only once in this series.
In February March 2007, a Quadrangular series was played in India for which Tsukigawa was selected. In the 4 matches played, she batted at the No. 6 position and had an average of 86.50. While playing against India, she finished with figures of 3 for 33 which were her best figures.
She is a member of Otago Women for whom she plays club cricket. In the 2006-07 State League, she was the skipper of this side.
