During a provincial Under-13 match between North Gauteng and Gauteng, Mignon du Preez scored 258 runs inclusive of 25 boundaries and 16 sixers at a strike rate of more than 200. She was then only 12 years old and immediately came into the limelight.
After 5 years, she was offered a chance in the South Africa Women cricket team as the captain Shandre Fritz was injured. In January 2007, while playing against Pakistan in the 5th ODI, she amassed 55 not out runs from 69 deliveries. Further, in the 3rd ODI against the Netherlands, du Preez and Johmari Logtenberg collaborated a South Africa record partnership of 224 not out runs.
Mignon du Preez is a right handed batsman as well as wicketkeeper who has played for teams like South Africa Women and Northerns Women. She played against Sri Lanka Women (North Sydney Oval No. 2) at Sydney on 14th March 2009. However, she did not get a chance to bat in this match. South Africa Women won this match by 9 wickets with 129 balls to spare.
