Debabrata Das is a Kolkata Knight Rider player and a promising batsman from Bengal. He debuted in the domestic cricket circuit of India in February 2008. Soon he was chosen by Kolkata Knight Riders for the 1st season of the IPL Twenty20 championship.

Das was a part of the India Under-19 team that participated in the Afro-Asia Under-19 Cup in November 2005. During this tournament, he actively contributed in each match and played in a manner to impress his selectors. In February 2008, he debuted in List A cricket for West Bengal team against Assam team. He has appeared in 6 games and has collected 141 runs and his highest score has been an unbeaten 55. As he had a robust strike rate of 92.76 and a batting average of 70.5, he was looked up to as an ideal candidate for the Twenty20 version.

For Kolkata Knight Riders, he participated in 6 matches and amassed 103 runs in them. His debut match was against Mumbai Indians during which he scored 29, which was a promising start.
