Goswami started his professional career in the 2008 season when he signed to play for the Royal Challengers Bangalore. He stayed with the team through 2010.

Prior to that, he represented India at the U-19 level. In one of their tours to South Africa, Goswami scored 104 and 97 during a tri-nation series. He also ended up scoring 58 runs in the semi-finals against New Zealand.

In November 2008, he made his First-Class Cricket debut in a match against Madhya Pradesh.

In 2009, he signed to play for the Bengal Cricket Team. He would be part of this domestic team through 2022.

After he was released from his contract with Bangalore, he then signed with the Kolkata Knight Raiders. He had a short stint with them in 2011 before he eventually signed with the Rajasthan Royals in 2012.

He took time off between 2014 and 2018 but then came back, signing with the Sunrisers Hyderabad’s squad number 3. In 2022, he signed up to play for Mizoram.
