Shreevats Goswami can be referred to as one of the wicketkeeper batsmen who started playing cricket since the age of 11. He had represented Bengal as well as India at U-19 level. In tour to ‘South Africa’, Shreevats did a brilliant job by scoring ‘104’ and ‘97’ in tri-nation series played therein. In semi-finals of Under 19s World Cup held in the same year, Goswami scored precious 58 runs in semi-final played against New Zealand. He was signed by IPL for its ‘Bangalore Royal Challengers’ side-by-side. Presently, he has been bought by the Rajasthan Royals team to play at the IPL 5 season 2012.
Shreevats made his debut in First-Class cricket against Madhya Pradesh on 10th of November, 2008 at Gwalior. He scored 22 runs in 39 balls in the first innings. However, in the second innings, he was out on a duck. Prior to that, he played his IPL match against Delhi Daredevils on 19th of May, 2008 at Bangalore. Bangalore Royal challengers lost this match by 5 wickets with 10 balls to spare. Goswami scored a brilliant ‘52’ in this game.
