Timothy Grant Southee is a right handed batsman and right arm medium fast bowler who is a member of New Zealand cricket team. He has also played for Northern Districts and New Zealand Under-19s.Timothy was the third highest wicket taker at the ICC World Cup, 2011.Presently, he is a part of the Chennai Super Kings IPL 2011. He has played with major teams like Northern Districts too.

The Test match between New Zealand and England played at Napier in 2008 was the debut match of Southee. In the 1st innings, he bowled 23.1 overs, out of which 8 were maidens, conceded 55 runs and took 5 wickets. He scored 5 runs in 20 deliveries. In the 2nd innings, he bowled 24 overs, 5 of which were maidens, gave away 84 runs but could not take a wicket. He remained unbeaten on a score of 77 off 40 deliveries. England won this match by 121 runs.

On 15th June 2008, Southee played his first One day International at Chester-le-Street against England. He bowled 10 overs, 1 of which was a maiden, conceded 68 runs and took 1 wicket. He scored 6 runs in 6 deliveries. England won this match by 114 runs.
