Russel Arnold is a left handed batsman and right arm offbreak bowler who played for Sri Lanka cricket team. He has also played for Nondescripts Cricket Club, ICL World XI and Chennai Superstars.

Arnold’s debut Test match was played from 19th to 23rd April 1997 at Colombo against Pakistan. In the 1st innings, he batted at the No. 2 spot and scored 24 runs in the 82 deliveries he faced. He bowled 2 overs, out of which 1 was maiden, gave away 3 runs but failed to take a wicket. In the 2nd innings, he scored 15 runs in 36 deliveries. This match was drawn. Arnold played for the first time in One day Internationals on 6th November 1997 at Lahore against South Africa. He took 2 catches and bowled 4 overs, none of which were maidens and conceded 24 runs without taking a wicket. He scored 11 runs after facing 21 deliveries. South Africa won this match by 66 runs.
