Chanderkanta Kaul is a Right handed batsman with the India National Women’s Cricket team. She has also played for the Railways Women’s team.
Chanderkanta Kaul debuted in International cricket in a One day International match against the West Indies Women’s team at Nottingham in 1993. Kaul who was then known by her maiden name Aheer was run out after scoring 7 runs. The Indian eves went on to win the match by 63 runs. Two years later in 1995, Kaul played her first test match against the New Zealand Women’s team at Nelson. In the first innings, Kaul scored 75 runs in 151 balls hitting 14 boundaries and was bowled by Katrina Keenan. In the second innings, Kaul could only score 4 runs and was trapped leg before wicket on a ball by Clare Nicholson. The match ended in a draw. In 1999, Kaul was chosen as the captain of the Indian Women’s team and captained the side in 4 one day Internationals and a test match.
