Alison Hodgkinson is a Right handed batsman and a Legbreak bowler with the South Africa Women’s Team. She has also played for the Western Province Women’s cricket team.
Alison Hodgkinson made her debut in International cricket in a One day International match against the England Women’s team at Chelmsford in 2000. Hodgkinson hit a boundary for four runs and got run out by Kathryn Leng after facing 10 balls. England went on to win the match by 20 runs. Two years later in 2002, in a match against India at Paarl, Hodgkinson made her test debut. In the first innings she scored 8 runs after facing 44 balls which included a boundary and was caught out behind the wicket by Anju Jain off a ball by Deepa Kulkarni. In the second innings, Hodgkinson went on to score 77 runs which included 5 boundaries in 227 balls before being trapped leg before wicket by Hemlata Kala. India however won the match by 10 wickets.
In a total of 32 One day Internationals, Hodgkinson has scored 443 runs with a high score of 52 runs not out and a strike rate of 48.41. She also has a total of 239 runs with a high score of 95 runs and a strike rate of 35.35 in just 3 test matches that she has played.
