Aimee Mason is a Left handed batsman and a Right arm off-break bowler with the New Zealand Women’s cricket team. She has also played cricket for the Central Districts Women’s team.
She was a member of the New Plymouth Girl’s High School cricket team in 2000 where the team won the Yoplait Cup. Mason made her international debut in a One day International match against the Australian Women’s team at Adelaide in 2002. After giving away just 32 runs in the 10 overs which also included a maiden over, Mason could not claim a wicket. Coming on to bat, she scored 5 runs in 11 balls which included a boundary and got caught by Sthalekar off a ball by Hayes. The Australian women went on to won the match by 53 runs. In 2003, Mason played her first test match against the Indian Women’s Team at Vapi. In the first innings, Mason scored 14 runs in 39 balls where she hit 2 boundaries and got caught by Jhulan Goswami off a ball by Nooshin Al Khadeer. She later bowled 19.3 overs and claimed a wicket giving away just 37 runs. She did not come to bat in the second innings as the match ended in a draw. In 2005, Mason showcased a stellar performance of 4 wickets for 23 runs in a match against India. The same year she won the State Plate award for the best women’s domestic player.
In a total of 74 One day Internationals, Mason has scored 1332 run with a high score of 111 runs and an average of 78.26 runs. She has also claimed 65 One day International wickets at an economy of 3.84 runs per over.
