Rana Majid Haq Khan popularly known as Majid Haq is a right arm off break bowler and a left handed batsman with the Scotland cricket team. He has also played for the Scotland under 23, Scotland under 19 and Scotland under 17 teams. Along with these Majid has also been a part of Kelburne Cricket Club, Fergusile Cricket Club and is currently playing for Clydesdale Cricket Club.
Majid Haq started playing first class cricket in 2006. He made his debut in International cricket in a One day International match against Bangladesh at Dhaka in 2006. Haq claimed the wickets of Aftab Ahmed and Shakib Al Hasan and gave away 57 runs in the 9 overs that he bowled. He could only score 3 runs before he was caught by Hasan off a ball by Mohammad Rafique. Bangladesh went on to win the match by 146 runs.
Though Haq has not played any International test matches yet he debuted in an International Twenty20 match against Pakistan at Durban in 2007. He once again claimed 2 wickets and gave away 49 runs in the 4 overs that he bowled. Coming on to bat, Haq scored 14 runs off 18 balls and was clean bowled by Mohammad Asif. Pakistan won the match by 51 runs.
In a total of 31 One day International Matches, Haq has scored 445 runs with a high score of 71 runs and a strike rate of 64.68. He also has 38 wickets to his name at an economy of 5.09 runs per over.
