Gary Bazil Brent is a right arm medium fast bowler and a right handed batsman with the Zimbabwe cricket team. He has also played for the Mashonaland, Mashonaland A, Manicaland, Mashonaland Under-24s and Young Mashonaland cricket teams.

Gary Brent started playing first class cricket since 1994. He made his debut in International cricket in a One day International match against Pakistan at Quetta in 1996. Brent could only score a run after facing 5 balls before being bowled out by Saqlain Mushtaq. He could not pick up a single wicket in the five overs he bowled and gave away 29 runs.

In 1999, Brent played in his debut test match in a match against Sri Lanka at Bulawayo. Brent was caught by Jayawardene off a ball by Muralitharan and sent back on a golden duck. He however, claimed 2 wickets and gave away 55 runs in the 332 overs that he bowled in the first innings. The match ended in a draw. In 2004, Brent was dismissed along with 14 other Zimbabwean players following a disagreement with the cricket board of Zimbabwe.

In a total of 70 One day International matches, Brent has scored 408 runs with a high score of 59 runs not out and claimed 75 wickets at an economy of 4.91 runs per over. He also has a total of 7 wickets at an economy of 2.30 runs per over in the 4 test matches that he has played.

Career Highlights

He was declared as the Man of the Match in the match played against Bangladesh in 2006.
