Yusuf Pathan is a right handed batsman and a right arm offbreak bowler with the Indian cricket team. He is the brother of Irfan Pathan and has played for the Baroda, India Green and Rajasthan Royals cricket teams. Presently, he is a part of the Kolkata Knight Riders team.
Yusuf Pathan has been playing first class cricket since 2001. Before he could play any One day cricket, Pathan made his International debut against Pakistan at the ICC World Twenty20 finals which remains the only international Twenty20 match he has played yet. He scored 15 runs off 8 balls which included a six and a four when he opened with Gambhir. India went on to win the finals and the Twenty20 World Cup.
Pathan has yet to play a test match. He made his debut in a One Day international match against Pakistan at Dhaka in 2008. He scored 3 runs off 12 balls before getting caught by Anjum on a ball by Shahid Afridi. He also bowled 2 overs and gave away 11 runs. India won the match by 140 runs.

He was signed by the Rajasthan Royals in the Indian Premier League and scored 435 runs and claimed 8 wickets in his first IPL season. Pathan holds the record for the fastest half century in the IPL off 21 balls. He was highly influential in the finals against the Chennai Super Kings where the Royals became the first IPL Champions. Pathan picked up 3 wickets in 4 overs and gave away just 22 runs. He also scored 56 runs in 39 balls which also included 4 sixes and 3 boundaries which earned him the Man of the Match award.
In a total of 57 One day Internationals’, Yusuf Pathan has scored 810 runs and claimed 33 wickets. He also has a total of 79 wickets to his name and has scored 2159 runs with a strike rate 156.10 in the 104 Twenty20 matches he has played.
