Doug Bracewell, aka, Douglas Andrew John Bracewell, was born in 1990 in Tauranga, New Zealand. He presently plays for the Central Districts team. This right handed batsman bowls right arm medium pace and is the son of the former test cricket player, Brendon Bracewell. Presently, he is part of the Delhi Daredevils team to play at the IPL 5 season 2012.

By 2008, Doug got selected in the New Zealand U19 squad for the England tour, where he played both test matches and around five ODI’s. His first class debut was on 17th November, 2008 for Central Districts against Auckland team, though he was dismissed for a duck in the first innings prior to taking one wicket for 41 runs. After a month, he made his List A debut against the same team, taking 2 wickets for 33 runs and as an opening batsman scoring around 55 runs.

Doug made his test debut against the team of Zimbabwe in November 2011, taking 5 wickets for 85 runs, in the second innings. He thus became the seventh New Zealand bowler to have picked a five wicket haul on a test debut. Moreover, it was also the fifth five wicket haul taken by any bowler who has made his debut against Zimbabwe.
