Sushant Hemant Marathe is an Indian professional cricket player, who plays for the Mumbai Ranji team. This powerful wicketkeeper and a batsman came into limelight playing along with the likes of Yuvraj Singh, Robin Uthappa and Suresh Raina during the BCCI corporate trophy. He single handedly guided the Air India Red to victory in the semi final matches. Presently, he has been selected by the Mumbai Indians to play for the IPL 5 season 2012.

In the 2009-10 tournament, Marathe played as an opening batsman in the Vijay Hazare domestic one day match, scoring the highest score. He even captained the Mumbai under 22 team, winning in the 2007-08 C.K. Nayudu trophy.

Though he was selected in the IPL 3 to play for the Mumbai Indians, he didn’t get a chance to show his talent. But in 2011, at the IPL 4, he was selected to play for the Kochi Tuskers Kerala.

Sushant has played in 12 First class matches, scoring 640 runs, with his highest being 144. His batting average accumulated to 29.09 with a strike rate of 39.92. He participated in 17 List A matches, scoring 467 runs at an average of 29.18 and a strike rate of 67.58. He played in 5 Twenty20 matches, scoring 202 runs, at a batting average of 50.50 and a strike rate of 147.44.
