Shami Ahmed is an Indian cricket player who is a right-arm medium bowler and a right hand batsman. Born in Bengal, in 1990, this medium-pacer made his Ranji debut for Bengal in November 2010 against Assam. Presently, he is part of the Kolkata Knight Riders IPL team.
A rising star, Shami is the golden boy of Bengal cricket with a promising start to his career. He represented Bengal in Twenty 20 matches. Shami was selected to represent the East Zone in the semifinal match of the Deodhar Trophy Cricket Tournament against West Zone at Jaipur.
Shami along with 3 other young players from Bengal were a part of IPL 2011 for Kolkata Knight Riders team. He was one of the medium fast bowlers playing for the Kolkata Knight Riders team as part of coach Dav Whatmore’s strategy to identify and groom young, local talent. Till date, Shami played in 6 first class matches, 11 List A matches and almost 13 Twenty20 matches.
