Ganesh Babanrao Gaikwad is an Indian cricket player born in Pune, Maharashtra in 1987. This right handed batsman and right arm off break bowler plays for the Maharashtra cricket team. At present, Gaikwad has been selected to play at the IPL 2011 for the team of Sahara Pune Warriors.

He made his debut for the under 14 team in 2000-01 season, making his way smoothly through the under 15s, under 17s, under 19s and under 22s teams. Ganesh successfully made his first class debut in 2008, making four appearances during the 2008-09 season, winning the Vijay Hazare Trophy event.

Since 2009, he has appeared for the team of the Maharashtra Cricket Association XI during the tours of Australia and Bangladesh.

Of the 11 first class, he scored 392 runs, his highest being 63 and at an average of 23.05 with a strike rate of 49.87. Ganesh bowled 1212 balls, taking 10 wickets with an average of 72.20, at a strike rate of 121.20.

Of the 12 One day matches, he made 160 runs, with an average of 20 and strike rate of 73.05. He bowled 633 balls and took 15 wickets, at an average of 31.66 and a strike rate of 42.20.

With right to 11 Twenty20 matches, he scored 171 runs, at an average of 21.37 and a strike rate of 114.76. Also, of the 262 balls he bowled at 11 of this matches, he took 17 wickets at an average of 13.47 and a strike rate of 15.41.
