Nuwan Pradeep is a Sri Lankan cricket player born in 1986 in Katana, Sri Lanka. His full name is Aththachchi Nuwan Pradeep Roshan Fernando. The major teams that he has been a part of include the Bloomfield Cricket and Athletic Club, the Sri Lanka Cricket Development XI, the Tamil Union Cricket and Athletic Club and many more. At present, Pradeep has been selected to the IPL 4 season team, Royal Challengers Bangalore.

Nicknamed as Sirasa, Nuwan is a right arm fast medium bowler and a right hand batsman. He didn’t get a chance to play cricket till he was 20 years of age, and after three years, he was in the Sri Lanka team squad. In 2007, Nuwan won the pace contest and impressed the talent scouts in soft ball event, thus getting a chance to be in the Sri Lanka Cricket’s academy.

This maverick bowler is similar to Lasith Malinge, in his slinging action and has so far troubled many batsmen in domestic cricket with his fast pace. Till date, Nuwan has toured Sri Lanka A team to Australia, getting the recognition of the quickest bowlers from both sides. Nuwan got a call to be selected to the national squad for the second test match against the India national cricket team.
