It is being said that the final before final is already here in the ICC World Twenty20 with Australia set to take on India in the second match of the double-header on Friday.
The match will be played in Colombo.
India marched through their group with two wins from as many matches.
While Afghanistan did give them a slight scare, it was in the end a comfortable victory nonetheless.
And against England, the ruthlessness culminated in a huge win. Australia too were magnificent in their journey to the Super Eights.
Ireland were brushed aside in no time before West Indies got beaten in a D/L situation though the openers could have gone all the way had the match gone ahead.
It is likely to be a high intensity match given how Australia-India contests always are. India are likely to go in with five bowlers as was indicated by MS Dhoni.
That could mean that the axe would fall on Virender Sehwag and it will be a tough call for the captain. India have struggled with the four bowler strategy generally though Harbhajan Singh and Piyush Chawla made life difficult for the English batsmen.
Virat Kohli is likely to be the main man with the bat once again.
Australia have been supreme in all departments of the game to register two wins. Their bowling was taken apart somewhat though by West Indies but the extra height for Mitchell Starc could trouble Indian batsmen who are not too fond of short-pitched bowling.
Michael Hussey termed the match as the final before final and he knows that his teammates are up for the challenge.
David Warner’s free flowing batting has been successful so far and they would be banking on him yet again to get a flying start.
The match starts at 7.30pm local time.
