Pune Warriors take on the Royal Challengers Bangalore in today’s IPL game and with the points table looking the way it is, the game will be one to watch out for.

It would have been termed wishful thinking to predict the two teams’ current position on the table the way it is at the moment. Pune Warriors will face Royal Challengers Bangalore in the second match of the day in the Indian Premier League on Tuesday.

Pune Warriors are currently sitting in second position with three wins from four matches. Their six points sees them level with Mumbai Indians and Rajasthan Royals. In their last meeting, the Warriors edged out Chennai Super Kings in the final over.

The bowlers did a commendable job to keep the total to 155 before Jesse Ryder steered the team home with Steven Smith chipping in as well scoring a whirlwind 44. Captain Sourav Ganguly is troubled with his own form slightly but the team balance looks good.

One area where they need to work is their running between the wickets as two run-outs in the last match could have been avoided. Marlon Samuels, their all-rounder, has been reported for a suspect bowling action and will be interesting to see if he is bowled in the upcoming matches.

Royal Challengers Bangalore slumped to yet another defeat on Sunday, losing to Rajasthan Royals by 59 runs. They are currently eighth on the table with just one win from four matches, and will be hoping to resurrect their campaign.

The bowlers looked toothless and changes can be expected after Vinay Kumar and Sreenath Aravind conceded 99 runs off seven overs. Chris Gayle failed with the bat amidst tall expectations while his only over also went for 21 runs.

Daniel Vettori will need to work out a strategy that makes the strong-on-paper team into a match-winning outfit. Muttiah Muralitharan will again be largely relied upon with the ball.

The match gets underway at 8pm as the home fans in Bangalore will be hoping for a better showing than they witnessed on Sunday.
