The first semi final of the Airtel Champions League T20 will feature two IPL sides, the Chennai Super Kings and the Royal Challengers Bangalore. The game will be played on Friday at Kingsmead in Durban. The Royal Challengers have lost both their gamers played in Durban and will look to set the record straight by winning this game. They, however, are without Jacques Kallis who is a vital member of their side. >
The loss of Jacques Kallis will hurt them in two departments. They will lose his batting skills at the top of the order and his bowling during the middle of the innings. They need to rework their combination so that they can bring two players to perform those functions. However, Manish Pandey, played well in the last game after opening the batting with Rahul Dravid. >
The key player will be Virat Kohli, who has played two very good innings so far. He came very close to winning the game against the Mumbai Indians but did the job in the last game against the Highveld Lions. He was well supported by Cameron White who came late down the order. However, the forms of Ross Taylor and Robin Uthappa should be a concern for the team management.
The Super Kings have had a good tournament so far. Their batting looks alright with Murali Vijay among the runs and with Michael Hussey contributing. Suresh Raina has played one good innings so far and would like to score well in this game. Anirudha Srikkanth and Subramanian Badrinath scored runs in the first game and the M S Dhoni got among the runs in the last game against the Warriors.
It will be tough to predict the winner of this game as the two teams are so evenly matched. However, the Super Kings should fancy their chances based on their recent form and the absence of Jacques Kallis for the Royal Challengers.
