Saurabh Tiwary’s selection into the Indian team has had everyone excited and it is not without reason. After all, the Indian side was looking like they could do with some injection of youth and hard strokes and they got just that. Dropped due to form or ftiness?>

However, it was Yuvraj Singh’s place in the side that Tiwary had taken, and it was not officially known why Yuvraj Singh was dropped. Krish Srikkanth refused to take any questions on any individuals, and went on to say that the side was the best that could be picked.

However, Srikkanth did send out feelers that the main reason for Yuvraj’s dismissal were probably his fitness levels. Srikkanth also said that the two main factors on which the selection had been done was fielding and fitness. Srikkanth also added that MS Dhoni was reasonably satisfied with the team that he had got.

Talking about the tri-series in Zimbabwe, where the Indian side bowed out after two losses to Zimbabwe, Srikkanth said that they had to look at youngsters.

Srikkanth said, “think it was all for the good in the sense that it allowed us to test the youngsters. How else do you test the youngsters? People say our selection backfired but how? We wanted to know how good some of the youngsters are and know who are good enough to play in the next level and who all need some more time”
