The BCCI will issue show cause notice to the four Indian cricketers who were involved in a brawl in the West Indies during their recently concluded ICC World T20. The board is expected to reprimand the cricketers for their involvement in the incident. >
Ashish Nehra, Yuvraj Singh, Rohit Sharma and Ravindra Jadeja were involved in the incident and it is said that the four had a tiff with irate Indian fans who began taunting the Indian cricketers for their performances in the tournament. India had crashed out of the tournament after losing all their Super Eight games. India’s manager on the tour, Ranjib Biswal then reported this incident to the BCCI President, Shashank Manohar.
BCCI CAO Ratnakar Shetty has announced that the notice will be sent to the cricketers, but also added that the names will be revealed only after the notice was served.
Shetty said, “We also conducted an enquiry over the incident in the West Indies that was widely reported in the media. After considering all the information that we have gathered, the President took the decision that the Board Secretary will issue show cause notices to those players on Tuesday.”
Earlier, Yuvraj Singh had denied anything like that had happened in West Indies on his Twitter, whereas Ashish Nehra also said that to his knowledge, the Indian side had gone to a restaurant for dinner and no fan had taunted him or the rest of the side.
