Delhi, who were 2020 runners-up, improved to a 7-2 record, while the Sunrisers are rock bottom with one win from eight games.
Hyderabad managed 134-9 from their 20 overs, before Delhi cruised to the target two down with 13 balls to spare.
“Very happy with this performance. We had a good first phase, we’re happy to start this way,” Pant said after the game.
“We want to focus on the process. Our bowlers did a pretty good job to restrict them. We have one of the quickest bowlers in the world. Pretty happy as the skipper.”
Sunrisers skipper Kane Williamson, who has taken over from Warner, was full of praise for Delhi but insisted his side need to keep believing.
“It’s important we keep the attitude the boys showed last time,” he said. “It’s been a tough campaign so far.
“At our best, we can beat anybody. They are an outstanding side and have a great balance.”
