India have moved quickly following their Test series victory in Australia to name an 18-member squad to play England in a four-match Test series starting next month.

Among those included in the India squad is captain Virat Kohli who only played the First Test in Australia before returning home to be with his wife for the birth of their first child.

Hardik Pandya, Axar Patel and Ishant Sharma are also included in the Test squad, with Jasprit Bumrah and K.L. Rahul (from the second Test) included despite suffering injuries in Australia.

Mohammed Shami and Ravindra Jadeja are absent following the injuries they also sustained in Australia.

The Test series is due to commence in Chennai on February 5, with four Tests within a month, played at both Chennai and Ahmedabad.

India clinched a 2-1 Test series victory over Australia on Tuesday, with a memorable three-wicket final Test victory at the Gabba, where wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant led a stunning final day run chase.

England also enjoyed a win this week, overcoming Sri Lanka in the First Test of their two-match series in Galle. Joe Root scored a double century in the victory.
