Susianna Kentikian was born on September 11, 1987 and is German-Armenian boxer from Germany. She has been living in Hamburg since 1996 and has been boxing since she was 12.
Kentikian became a German citizen in 2008 but has applied for dispensation so she could retain her Armenian citizenship. Her interest in boxing started while accompanying her brother to the gym. She soon started to train at the gym shortly after that and later was competing in amateur championships. She won the Hamburg championships for juniors from 2001 to 2004 as well as the northern German championship for juniors in 2003 and 2004. Her biggest amateur success was when she won the International German Women’s Amateur championship in the junior featherweight division. Even in the amateurs Kentikian has earned a reputation for her aggressive style, which led to the nickname “Killer Queen.”
After a successful amateur career with a record of 24 wins and 1 loss, Kentikian turned pro by signing up with Spotlight Boxing, which was based in Hamburg and started training with Magomed Schaburow. She started her professional career on January 15, 2005 winning by unanimous decision over Bulgarian boxer Iliana Boneva. She won her first professional title, the international German flyweight title on July 25, 2006 with her defeat of Daniela Graf. She followed this up with her first international fight against Maribel Zurita on September 9, 2006, for which she won the WIBF Intercontinental flyweight title. Kentikian won her latest title, the WBO Flyweight title on October 10, 2009. She is the current WBA, WBO and WIBF flyweight champion.
So far, Kentikian is still undefeated, and has won 26 fights with 16 knockouts.
