Plant turned pro in May 2014. He went up against Travis Davidson and managed to down Robinson in the first round. Since his debut through to December 2022, he had has 23 fights, winning 22 of them.
He won his first title in 2019. It was the IBF World Super Middleweight title. He won it from Jose Uzcategui. From 2019 to January 2021, he defended his IBF World title. He lost it in November 2021 when he was defeated by Saul Alvarez.
