Anthony Joshua is set to defend his world heavyweight title against Oleksandr Usyk in September to be held in Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Usyk is a mandatory challenger, who won four titles lower at cruiserweight. Joshua needed to defend his WBO title after his supposed opponent Tyson Fury had collapsed.

Joshua shared in an interview that he and Fury were Olympic gold medalists. Joshua and Usyk are also the first boxers to fight in the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Despite the longevity of the negotiations between WBC CHampion Fury and Anthony Joshua, all of the four belts won by Fury failed to materialize.

Joshua then called Fury a “fraud” last August 14 last year when the scheduled fight between them was called off. Because of the cancelled flight, Fury will have to face Deontay Wilder, a two-time world heavyweight champion. This fight is scheduled to happen in Las Vegas this October 9.

Although the cancellation of their fight had disappointed many boxing fans, still there’s a treat between two boxers when they are set to fight someone else in the next few months.

On the other hand, former cruiserweight champion Oleksandr Usyk already has 18 wins and 18 bouts under his belt. Surely, both Joshua and Usyk are ready enough to set the stage and finish their business.

As for the venue of the Joshua-Usyk fight, the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium has more than 60,000 seat capacity, but only 20,000 people can be accommodated and fans should have vaccination proof.
