Errol Spence Jr. still firmly believes that Manny Pacquiao will retire after their fight.

Spence had said before that Manny would lose to him and hang up his gloves. Their fight is scheduled for next month on August 21. It had been two years when Pacquiao last stepped into the ring.

The 42-year-old Pacquiao is taking a gamble in fighting Spence, the current IBF/WBC welterweight champion. Most boxing fans are not confident Pacquiao can take Spencer, who some believe to be the no. 1 fighter at 147. Fans think Manny should have had a tune-up fight before this.

However, the Filipino fighter insists hes ready and doesn’t need a tune-up against the 31-year-old Spence. Pacquiao says he can take Spence as playing basketball has helped him stay in shape. Moreover, he doesn’t believe that he’ll be rusty from inactivity the same way as other fighters, for hes been boxing for years.

Everyone will see if this is true when the fight happens next month. It could be that Pacquiao really doesn’t need a tune-up, or Spence will be proven true Manny will finally retire. If Pacquiao does win, it isn’t likely hell retire as there’ll be plenty of offers for a rematch, and Spence wont turn down an opportunity to face him again.
