The Brisbane Bullets are a professional basketball team that competes in the National Basketball League of Australia. David Kemp is currently the owner of the team. Midnight Navy and Maize are the official colors of the team.

In 1979 the Bullets was founded. In the same year they started playing under the National Basketball League (NBL). In the inaugural NBL season out of the 18 games played Brisbane lost five and won 13 and was ranked in the fifth spot. The highest ppg scorer of the season in the league was Calvin Bruton of Brisbane.

In the 2nd season in 1980 Brisbane reached the finals of the NBL. Dave Claxton was a head coach of the team at that time. The Bullets finished in the third place by winning 17 games of their 22 season games. The second semi final was between the West Adelaide Bearcats and the Bullets which was lost by the Bullets by a score of 94-101.

In 1981 the team was led by Brian Banks. In 1981 Brisbane again reached the finals and eventually occupied the fifth spot.

In 1990 the Bullets occupied the third spot and reached the grand final but eventually lost the finals. In the seasons from 1994 to 1996 the Bullets could reach only the quarter finals and occupied the fifth, sixth and eighth spot respectively.

In the early part of the 2000s the Bullets could not reach the finals. In the 2001-02 season the Bullets won only 4 out of the 28 fixtures and in this disappointing season they occupied the second last spot in the regular season table. In the 2003-04 season out of the 33 fixtures the Bullets won 22 and occupied the fourth place in the table.

In the pre season Blitz of 2006-07 all the three group stage games were won by the Bullets and the team was ranked at the top of Pool A and further it advanced to the quarter finals. The Bullets then beat the Wollongong Hawks and the Sydney Kings and reached the final where they beat the Melbourne Tigers and lifted the pre-season title.

Following the success in the preseason, the Bullets were victorious in the 2006-07 season minor premiership ending with a record of just 5 losses and on the other hand 28 wins. The Bullets won the 2006-07 NBL championship by defeating the Melbourne Tigers by a score of 3-1.

The Bullets play all their home games at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre. It has a maximum capacity of 6,500. Many famous players like Shane Heal, John Rillie, Wade Helliwell and Mike Mckay were all part of the team at one point or the other.
