Derrick Brown is an American basketball player standing 6 feet 7 inches tall and weighing 225 lbs. At present, he is playing for the Charlotte Bobcats team.
After passing out from the Chaminade-Julienne High School from Dayton, he studied in Xavier College during which, he played basketball for three years graduating in 2009.
In his 106 career in basketball games at Xavier University, he averaged to 10.3 points and 5.6 rebounds. In 2006-07, he was named as the Atlantic 10 All Rookie team in 2006-07 ranking 36th on the university’s all time scoring list with 1,096 points in his career graph.
Derrick entered the 2009 NBA Draft when he was selected in the 40th overall by the Charlotte Bobcats. In July 13, 2009, he signed a two year contract with this team.
Brown even played with the Utah Jazz entry during the Orlando Pro Summer League recently, averaging 12.6 points, 3.0 rebounds in 18.8 minutes whilst shooting .531 from the field.
Brown was awarded second team All-Atlantic 10 honors as a junior at Xavier University. This 6’7 forward athlete led his team in rebounds of 6.1 rpg, three point percentage of .433 and was ranked second in 13.7 ppg score with .504 field goal percentage. Brown was ranked among the Atlantic 10 conference leaders and scored in double figures 27 times which includes four double-doubles.
