Filiberto Rivera has been awarded the 2003 NJCAA First Team All American, 2003 NJCAA Player of the Year and 2000 BSN Rookie of the Year. He has been playing for the Puerto Rico national basketball team since 2006. Currently he has an active contract with Eldo Napoli of the Italian League. In the past, he has participated in the National Superior Basketball League, NJCAA and NCAA.

Filiberto took part in the Summer Pro League with Cleveland Cavaliers and Dallas Mavericks in the summer of 2005. He played for Puerto Rico in the Basketball World Championship 2006 and 2006 Central American and Caribbean Games. In these Caribbean games, Filiberto won the Gold Medal. He represented Artland Dragons of the German Bundesliga in the 2006-07 season. In this league’s semi final, he led the team with 3 assists, 5 rebounds and 16 points.

Filiberto Rivera took the opportunity to participate in 57 games in NJCAA. In these, he recorded 830 points, 349 assists, 153 rebounds and 142 steals. His 3-point field goal percentage was 0.269, free throw percentage was 0.778 and field goal percentage was 0.460. In the NCAA, Rivera played in 64 games and posted 790 points, 97 steals, 184 rebounds and 381 assists. His field goal percentage was 0.452, free throw percentage was 0.815 and 3-point field goal percentage was 0.360.
