Lazaros Papadopoulos was a member of the junior Greek national team. Along with this squad, he took part in the 1998 FIBA Europe Under 18 Championship where he won the Bronze Medal and the 1999 FIBA Under 19 World Championship. When he joined the senior Greek National Basketball Team, he was voted the best Center of the Eurobasket 2005. He was also a part of the team that contested at Eurobasket 2001 and Eurobasket 2007 as well as the 2004 Greece Olympic Basketball Team.

Papadopoulos plays in the position of Center. He has a height of 6 feet 10.75 inches and weighs 280 lbs. Presently, he is a member of the professional club Fortitudo Bologna of the Italian league.

In the past, he has been a member of several teams like Iraklis BC from 1996 to 2001, Panathinaikos BC from 2001 to 2003, Iraklis BC during 2003-04, MBC Dynamo Moscow from 2004 to 2007 and Real Madrid during 2007-08. While he was with Dynamo Moscow, he won the ULEB Cup Championship.

Career Highlights

Lazaros Papadopoulos won the Gold Medal for Greece during the 2005 Serbia and Montenegro European Championships. He won the Silver Medal for Greece in the 2006 Japan FIBA World Championships.
