Darnell Mee is originally from the United States and a former NBA player. During the 1993 NBA draft, he was chosen by Golden State Warriors in the 2nd round. He was the 34th overall pick.

Mee gained the experience of playing college basketball in Western Kentucky University for 3 seasons. In the NBA, he played for Denver Nuggets for about 1 season during which he participated in 40 games. In 1994, Nuggets contested in 12 playoff games in which he participated in 3 games. Mee was usually a 12th man in the Nuggets.

After leaving the NBA, he played for several teams like Yakima Sun Kings (France), BCM Gravelines (Italy), Kinder Bologna and Leverkusen. In 1996, he decided to move to Australia and participate in the NBL. In Australia also, he played for many clubs. In 1996, he was with Canberra Cannons. From 1998 to 2001, he was a member of Adelaide 36ers. In 2003, he joined Cairns Taipans. He spent the 2004-05 season with Wollongong Hawks. From 2006 onwards, he returned to Cairns Taipans and at present is a member of this team.

Career Highlights

Darnell Mee was NBL’s Best defensive player in 1999, 2000, 2001, 2005 and 2006. He was a member of NBLs First tEam in 2001 and 2005. He won the NBL championships in 1998 and 1999.
