Jon Robert Holden is basically from the United States, but at present is a naturalized Russian professional basketball player. In Russia, his name is Dzhon-Robert Kholden.
From 1994 to 1998, he played college basketball at Bucknell University. From 1998, he began his professional career in Europe along with ASK/Broceni/LMT and this club offered him 3,000 USD per month. He was with this club for one season only – 1998-99 season. He was a member of Telindus Oostende in Belgium from 1999 to 2001. Further, he shifted to AEK Athens BC, which is a Greek League, for the 2001-02 season. From 2002 to 2009, he has played for CSKA Moscow in the Russian League.
In each of the above mentioned countries, Holden has won national championships. He was chosen as the 2003 Russian Basketball Super League Player of the Year. During the 2002 Eurobasket All-Europe Rankings, he earned an Import Players Honorable Mention. He helped CSKA Moscow to win the Euroleague 2005-06 and the Euroleague 2007-08 season championships.

Career Highlights
Holden achieved his biggest success when he made the winning shot in the 2007 Spain European Championships that resulted in Russia winning the gold medal. Due to this victory, he was selected in the Russian roster for the 2008 Beijing Olympics.
