Stephen Graham is a professional American basketball player and plays as a swingman, i.e. a guard as well as a forward. Graham, whose twin brother Joey plays for the Toronto Raptors, played collegiate ball at Oklahoma State, he decided to forego two years of college and as a sophomore, declared for the NBA Draft in 2005. Unfortunately for Graham, the move backfired and he wasn’t picked by any team.
This forced him to turn to Summer League and played with the Phoenix Suns at Las Vegas. He then played for the San Antonio Spurs in the preseason games but at the end of it all, was not offered a contract by either team. Graham turned to the Continental Basketball Association at this point and signed a contract with the Sioux Falls Skyforce. His performance got him into the 2006 CBA All-Star game.
This came after the Houston Rockets had signed Graham in December 2005 but after just 6 games, sent him back to the Skyforce. He then went on to sign a 10-day contract with the Chicago Bulls but the move ended after the 10-day period with the Bulls refusing to offer him a contract.
In February, he signed another 10-day contract, this time with the Cleveland Cavaliers but this time ‘round, he got an extension till the end of the season. He signed up with the Portland Trailblazers in January 2007 but after a couple of months, was waived off. He returned to the Sioux Fall Skyforce who were now a part of the NBA D-League.
In 2007-08, the Indiana Pacers signed Graham and he went on to play 22 games for them, scoring at 4.0 points per game in the 5.8 minutes per game he got. In 2008-09, he got 52 games, playing 13.2 minutes coming off the bench. Graham was scoring at 5.4 points per game with 1.8 rebounds. He continues to be a part of the team, his second season at the NBA so far.
