Later, he played collegiate basketball for Villanova University and was there from 2022 to 2023. In 2023, he was named the Big East Freshman of the Year.
Professional Career
Whitmore turned pro in 2023 and was the 20th overall pick in the first round of the 2023 NBA Draft, selected by the Houston Rockets. Also in 2023, he played for the Rockets’ NBA G League affiliate team – the Rio Grande Valley Vipers.
As of early 2024, he continues to play for the Rockets.
In addition to his professional career, he also plays for the United States internationally for the FIBA Under 18 Americas Championships.
