He started his high school at Mount Vernon Hugh School where he helped his team to two New York State Basketball Championships. Later, he enrolled at the San Jacinto Junior College from 1973 to 1975 before eventually going to the University of Minnesota from 1975 to 1977.

Professional Career

He joined the NBA in 1977 and was the 10th overall pick of the draft, selected by the New York Knicks. He played with the Knicks for the most years in his career, not leaving the team until 1981.

From 1981 to 1983, he played for the New Jersey Nets and the Kansas City Kings for a season each before going back to the Nets for the 1983-1984 season. In 1985 and 1986, he signed short-term with the Boston Celtics, Atlanta Hawks, and the San Antonio Spurs. He returned to the New Jersey Nets for the 1986 to 1987 season before eventually retiring.
