High School and College Career
Gugliotta attended Walt Whitman High School in New York. For college, he played basketball for North Carolina State University from 1988 to 1992. While there, he received All-American honors. He was also named to the First-team All-American – NABC and the First-team All-ACC in 1992.
He joined the NBA in 1992 in the first round of the NBA Draft. Gugliotta was picked 6th overall by the then-Washington Bullets. In 1993, he was named to the NBA All-Rookie First Team. In 1994, he was traded to the Golden State Warriors. He played with them for a season. In 1995, he was traded to the Minnesota Timberwolves.
In 1997, he was named an NBA All-Star. From 1999 to 2004, he played for the Phoenix Suns. In 2004, he signed with the Utah Jazz. His last season with the NBA was the 2004-2005 Season, he played for the Boston Celtics and later signed with the Atlanta Hawks.
