Johnny Baum was a professional basketball player playing as a Forward with the Indiana Pacers of the American Basketball Association. He wore the number 22 jersey with the Pacers and was 6 feet and 5 inches tall weighing in at 200 lbs.

Johnny Baum did his schooling from the West High School in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He later attended the Temple University where he played for the college basketball team called the Temple Owls. In 1968, Baum was drafted by the Los Angeles Lakers, however, Baum did not play in the NBA that year and was eventually drafted by the Chicago Bulls in 1969. After playing with the Bulls for two seasons, Baum left the NBA to join the New York Nets in the rival American Basketball Association. In 1974, Baum was acquired by the Memphis Tams also in the ABA. After playing just 47 games, Baum was traded mid season to the Indiana Pacers. The 1973- 74 season was his final season playing professional basketball as he eventually retired.

In a total of 244 games that he played in the NBA and the ABA, Baum averaged at 6.1 points per game, 0.6 assists per game and 2.7 rebounds per game.
