Damyean Dotson is a professional basketball player who is currently playing for the Gaziantep Basketball, a Turkish Basketball League. Before pursuing a basketball career in Turkey, he was a former player of the New York Knicks and Cleveland Cavaliers.

Player’s Profile

Damyean Da’Kethe Dotson attended the University of Oregon when he was in college, however, he was dismissed by the university due to an alleged sexual assault. However, the victim had conflicting statements about the sexual assault that’s why Dotson was not charged with any legal cases.

After the unfortunate incident, he prioritized enrolling in an anger management course at Houston Community College. He also transferred to the University of Houston, and finally pursued his basketball career.


Although things didn’t go well with Dotson, still he managed to be selected by the New York Knicks during the NBA Draft. He signed with the Knicks as a rookie player, and he was assigned to play to the Westchester Knicks, a G-League affiliate of the New York Knicks.

In 2020, he signed with the Cleveland Cavaliers, but he was traded by the Cavaliers a couple of months after acquiring him.

In 2021, he went back to the New York Knicks with a 10-day contract and was acquired by the Austin Spurs upon his contract expiry. However, he didn’t last long with the Spurs as he decided to pursue a career with the Basketball Super League in Turkey.
