Tim Bassett was a professional basketball player playing at the Forward- Center position with the San Antonio Spurs in the National Basketball Association. He wore the number 21 jersey and stood 6 feet 8 inches weighing in at 225 lbs.
Tim Bassett did his schooling from the McKinley High School in Washington, D.C. He later attended the University of Georgia in Athens, Georgia where he played for the college basketball team called the Georgia Bulldogs. In 1973, Bassett was drafted by the Buffalo Braves however he chose to play with the San Diego Conquistadors of the rival American Basketball Association. After playing two seasons with the Conquistadors, in 1975 Bassett shifted to play with the New York Nets also in the ABA. In 1976, when the Nets became a part of the NBA, Bassett was part of the team. In 1978, in another move the team shifted to New Jersey to become the New Jersey Nets. Bassett played with the Nets till the mid of 1979-80 season and was acquired by the San Antonio Spurs with whom he retired at the end of the season.
In a total of 473 games that Bassett played in the NBA and the ABA, he averaged at 6.2 points per game, 1.2 assists per game and 6.7 rebounds per game.
