He started playing basketball professionally for the Basketball Bundesliga for his hometown club of Wurzburg. He played for Wurzburg from 2011 to 2014. In 2014, he signed with Obradoiro in Galicia and he helped them win the Galician Cup. A year later, he returned to Germany to play for Bayern Munich.
He had originally declared for the NBA in 2012 but did not sign a contract with a team until 2017. His NBA debut occurred in October 2017 while playing for the Dallas Mavericks.
