Deni Avdija is a basketball player who is from Israel. He is both Serbian and Israeli and as of 2022, he plays for the Washington Wizards in the National Basketball Association (NBA). Prior to the NBA, he has also played for the Maccabi Tel Aviv team of the Israeli Basketball Premier League.

Born on January 3, 2001, Avdija’s hometown is Beit Zera, Israel. His father is Serbian-Israeli and was born in Kosovo. Avdija is both Serbian and Israeli. In interviews, Avdija has stated that he learned to speak English from playing video games and watching Nickelodeon.

He stands 206 meters tall and his weight was last listed at 95 kg. He is a right-handed player and he plays the position of Small Forward.

Professional Career

Avdija started his professional career by playing for the Maccabi Tel Aviv team in the Israeli Basketball Premier League. He is the youngest player to play for the club when he debuted in November 2017. He was just 16 years and 320 days at the time. He debuted in the EuroLeague in October 2019.

In April 2020, he declared for the National Basketball Association. In that year’s draft, he was the 9th overall pick by the Washington Wizards. He signed a contract with them in December of that year.
