Lauri Markkanen is a professional basketball player who is currently playing for the Cleveland Cavaliers. He was born and raised in Vantaa, Finland, where he played most of his junior years for a local basketball team called HoNsU.
College Career
Markkanen committed to play for the Arizona Wildcats during the 2016-17 season. His team also wrote a letter of intent to the university, and ESPN responded that he was a one-and-done candidate for the NBA Draft. He is also one of the first players to wear Jersey Number 10. He is also known as the best shooting 7-shooter college basketball player.
NBA Career
Markkanen joined the 2017 NBA Draft and was selected by the Minnesota Timberwolves. However, he was traded to the Chicago Bulls in exchange for Jimmy Butler III. In October 2017, he debuted and was able to score 17 points. He was able to set another record when he shot 10 successful 3 pointers.
