Cat Barber is a professional basketball player who is currently playing for the Atlanta Hawks and the College Park Skyhawks of the NBA G League. Barber was born and raised in Hampton, Virginia, where basketball star Allen Iverson grew up too. He mentioned in several interviews that his gameplay and appearance were almost the same as Iverson, as he drew inspiration from him.

Early Life and Career

When he was in high school, Barber was awarded to the All-Eastern Region’s first team as the only underclassman to have been included in the season. He also helped Hampton High School reach the championship while he became the Class AAA Player of the Year. He was also chosen to the McDonald’s All American Game, where he contributed 11 points with 4 assists. He was also able to clinch the bronze medal in the Nike Global Challenge.

College Career and Professional Career

He committed to play with the North Carolina State University, where he led the team to the conference finals. He also became one of the watch lists for the Naismith Trophy.

In March 2016, he announced that he’s joining the NBA Draft, where he was eventually selected by the New Orleans Pelicans for the summer league. After the summer league, he signed a contract with the Philadelphia 76ers and was assigned to the Delaware 87ers, an NBA Development League.
